On September 3, dozens of homeowners at Phase II of Kangqiao Nayunxi, a stalled residential project in Xinzheng, Zhengzhou, Henan Province, climbed onto the rooftop, unfurled banners, and chanted slogans, demanding that the developer deliver their homes as soon as possible.
Phase II of Kangqiao Nayunxi was originally scheduled for completion and handover in 2022, but construction has reportedly been stalled for five years. During this period, homeowners have staged multiple protests. Although the Zhengzhou municipal government announced in October 2022 that the project had “substantively resumed construction,” work remains suspended to this day.
