From June 11 to 16, the owners of Huaying Electronic Plastics Co., Ltd. and its affiliate Jiafeng Electronics Co., Ltd., both based in Dongguan, Guangdong, secretly moved equipment out of the factories while owing hundreds of workers three months of back wages — without announcing closure or offering any compensation. When workers discovered what was happening, they blocked the factory gates for several consecutive days to prevent the equipment from being removed, at one point confronting a large contingent of police.
