(April 12, 2026) — On April 12, thousands of Chinese workers from the Beijing Haihua Group’s hydrocracking project in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Russia, held a collective street protest to demand unpaid wages.
According to reports, the project’s employer, the Russian state oil company Rosneft, unilaterally terminated the contract despite the project being approximately 90% complete. Rosneft forcibly evicted Peter Haihua Co., Ltd. (a subsidiary of Haihua Group) from the site and refused to pay the remaining project funds.
Currently, Haihua has not paid wages for five months, leaving workers in a dire situation where they are neither receiving their pay nor allowed to continue working.
