On June 19 in Guiyang, Guizhou Province, a conflict broke out between urban management officers and street vendors. Afterward, one of the officers lay down in the street pretending to be injured, but was eventually dragged to the roadside by a vendor. When the video was posted on social media, public reaction overwhelmingly mocked the officer, suggesting that the Chinese Communist Party’s recent efforts to whitewash the image of urban management teams have once again been in vain.
