In March of this year, over a thousand residents of Zuoling New City in Wuhan, Hubei, launched a protest action, smashing parking barriers across six residential compounds and successfully forcing property management companies to abandon their parking fee collection. However, in Shuangdun Community — part of Phase 6 of Zuoling New City — the property management company continued to charge parking fees. On the evening of April 12, hundreds of Shuangdun Community residents took collective action and destroyed the parking barriers in their compound.
