「浙江温州：政府出动200警察保安殴打村民抢夺水资源」周一（9月8日），浙江温州永嘉县碧莲镇澄田村，当地政府不顾村民反对，以“安装自来水”为名，出动警察、保安等约200人进村，强行抢夺水资源。期间，警察、保安在一名镇副书记的带领下，对维权村民大打出手，已造成三名村民受伤入院。
据村民透露，澄田村村民长期使用自建设备饮用山泉水，每吨费用仅0.5元，水质优良。但碧莲镇政府却联合自来水公司，强行在村内修建自来水设施，意图让村民改用该自来水公司提供的自来水。村民表示，如果建成，村民饮水费用将上涨四倍。还有村民质疑，镇政府此举还意在将本地优质水源引往城镇。
由于村内多为留守老人，几轮冲突下来，村民已无力继续反抗。当晚，在警察的保护下，自来水工程已经强行开工。

On Monday (September 8), in Chengtian Village, Bilian Town, Yongjia County, Wenzhou, Zhejiang, local authorities, disregarding villagers’ opposition, dispatched around 200 police officers and security guards into the village under the pretext of “installing tap water” in order to forcibly seize control of the community’s water resources. During the operation, led by a deputy Party secretary of Bilian Town, police and security guards assaulted villagers defending their rights, leaving three hospitalized with injuries.
According to residents, villagers in Chengtian have long relied on self-built systems to access mountain spring water, which costs only 0.5 yuan per ton and is of high quality. However, the Bilian Town government, in collaboration with a tap water company, has been pushing to build water facilities in the village, aiming to force villagers to switch to the company’s supply. Villagers said that if completed, their water costs would quadruple. Some also suspect that the authorities intend to divert the high-quality local spring water to urban areas for profit.
As most villagers are elderly left-behind residents, they were unable to sustain resistance after several rounds of clashes. That evening, under police protection, construction on the tap water project was forcibly started.
