Subsequently, Yintu issued a statement saying that unstable overseas orders had led to financial difficulties, forcing it to delay wage payments. According to the agreement, Yintu will pay the delayed wages for July on September 15, but made no mention of the already overdue August wages or social insurance.

Public records show that Yintu Electric (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary of Hong Kong Yintu Industrial Co., Ltd., established in 1987, with a peak workforce of around 4,000 employees.

China Resources Beverage is a subsidiary of the state-owned China Resources Group, best known for its “C’estbon” brand of purified water, launched in 1990.

Public records show that Advanced Semiconductor Equipment (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., established in 2019, is a subsidiary of ASMPT, a globally renowned supplier of semiconductor and packaging equipment. According to reports, the closure of the Shenzhen plant is part of ASMPT’s strategy to optimize its global manufacturing and supply chain network.

On the evening of July 17, at Longhua Bus Station in Shenzhen, Guangdong, security guards sprayed water on the ground to prevent homeless people from sleeping there.

On July 15, in Shenzhen, Guangdong, workers at Guanbo Technology Industrial Co., Ltd. staged a collective protest after the boss defaulted on wage payments and sold off the factory. The workers blocked the factory gates, demanding their wages be settled first. However, due to the boss repeatedly breaking promises, the workers still had not received their wages by late that night.

On July 14, a group of homebuyers in Shenzhen, Guangdong, who had been scammed while purchasing properties advertised as being in school districts, went to the Civic Center to defend their rights. The police told them they would be taken to meet with government officials, but instead tricked them onto a bus and transported them to a different location.

Each worker paid 36,000 yuan in fees to join a company called “Good Goods to Home Fresh Supply Chain Co., Ltd.” in Hong Kong. However, after joining, the employer failed to pay salaries for two months. According to the workers, “We only work one hour a day, and spend the rest of the time just killing time.” Realizing they had been scammed, the workers reported the case 20 days ago, but there has been no resolution. On the night of July 9, with nowhere else to turn, the workers climbed to the rooftop.

From July 8 to 9, hundreds of workers at the Tangxiayong factory of Xinhao Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. in Bao’an District, Shenzhen, went on strike to protest the company’s relocation plan without compensation. On June 24, Xinhao announced that its 2.5D department at the Shenzhen headquarters would be relocated to Dongguan, Huangshi, Enshi, and other locations. The company claimed that workers could freely choose whether to relocate or stay and continue working in the 3D department in Shenzhen.

However, according to workers, those unwilling to relocate were being pressured to quit by being assigned low-paying “five-day, eight-hour” shifts—part of a strategy to force voluntary resignations and evade legally mandated compensation. The strike remains ongoing.
