According to residents, the cause may have been a failure by property management to connect the sewage system to the municipal network, resulting in fecal water backflow into the tap water pipes. After drinking tap water from the compound, many residents experienced symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, fever, and dizziness. Over a hundred people were hospitalized for treatment.
According to residents, the suspected cause is the property management’s failure to connect the sewage system to the municipal network, resulting in backflow of sewage into the tap water supply. A week after the incident, the property management remained inactive and insisted there was no problem with the water quality. On the evening of July 3, residents gathered at the entrance of the complex to protest the property company’s inaction.
