February 27, workers at Shenzhen Oulutong Electronics Co., Ltd. in Guangdong went on a collective strike to protest the company’s relocation of its factory without offering compensation.

January 21 — About 700 workers at the Shiyan branch of Shenzhen Maike Brothers Technology Co., Ltd. went on strike collectively, protesting that the company secretly relocated the factory in order to evade compensation.

“Hundreds of Workers Strike at Taiwanese Nike Supplier in Huizhou to Resist Relocation Without Compensation” On September 16, in Boluo County, Huizhou, Guangdong, hundreds of workers at the Taiwanese-owned Longfa Shoes Huizhou factory (Longyu Shoe Factory) went on strike to protest the company’s decision to close the plant without offering compensation, instead forcing workers to be merged into its Dongguan factory. Public records show that Longfa Shoes (Huizhou) Co., Ltd. is a well-known international footwear manufacturer, with close contract manufacturing ties to brands such as NIKE.

广东珠海奇思智能制造有限公司搬迁厂区到东莞，为了逃避赔偿，宣布放假三个月，工人8月28、29日连续两天维权，阻止公司搬走设备。29日，公司保安将一名到公司讨要产假工资的女工抬出了厂区。

Zhuhai Qisi Intelligent Manufacturing Co., Ltd. in Guangdong relocated its factory to Dongguan. In order to evade compensation, the company announced a three-month shutdown. On August 28 and 29, workers staged protests for two consecutive days to stop the company from moving out equipment. On the 29th, company security guards carried a female worker—who had come to demand her maternity pay—out of the factory.

[2,000 Workers Strike in Dongguan, Guangdong to Protest Relocation Without Compensation]

On Thursday (August 21), about 2,000 workers at Dongguan Maorui Electronics went on strike to protest the company’s refusal to compensate employees for its factory relocation. According to the workers, Maorui Electronics recently moved its plant from Niushan in Dongguan to Qingxi, but refused to provide compensation and instead used a “piecemeal” method to transfer factory equipment. Public records show that Dongguan Maorui Electronics Co., Ltd. was established in 2000, with a registered capital of approximately USD 8.1 million, and its legal representative is Huang Qianyu.

8月14、15日，广东深圳华润饮料有限公司工人连日罢工，抗议公司搬迁厂区不赔偿。华润饮料是是央企华润集团旗下的饮料生产企业，以1990年推出的“怡宝”牌纯净水最为知名。

On August 14 and 15, workers at China Resources Beverage Co., Ltd. in Shenzhen, Guangdong went on strike for consecutive days, protesting against the company’s relocation of the plant without compensation. China Resources Beverage is a subsidiary of the state-owned China Resources Group, best known for its “C’estbon” brand of purified water, launched in 1990.

8月1日，广东河源中光电通讯技术有限公司工人集体罢工，抗议公司搬迁不赔偿以及拖欠工资。据工人透露，中光电已经于今年4月搬迁至江西，老板为了逃避赔偿，给不愿搬迁的人留了一条产线，欠薪是为了逼迫他们自动离职。

On August 1, workers at Zhongguangdian Communication Technology Co., Ltd. in Heyuan, Guangdong, staged a collective strike to protest against the company’s relocation without compensation and unpaid wages. According to the workers, the company had already moved to Jiangxi in April this year. In order to avoid paying compensation, the boss kept one production line for those unwilling to relocate. The delayed wages were intended to force them to resign voluntarily.

On July 16 and 17, hundreds of workers at Jinle Dyeing and Weaving Co., Ltd. in Jiaxing, Zhejiang, went on strike for consecutive days to protest the company’s relocation of the factory without offering compensation to the workers. During the protest, workers used trolleys from the workshop as barricades to block the factory gates.

【广东深圳：信濠光电数百工人罢工抵制搬迁不赔偿（2025.07.08-09）】7月8至9日，广东深圳信濠光电科技股份有限公司宝安区塘下涌工厂的数百工人集体罢工，抗议公司搬迁不赔偿。信濠光电于6月24日发布通知，将深圳本部2.5D部门搬迁至东莞、黄石、恩施等地，公司宣称将让工人自由选择，可以留在深圳3D部门继续上班。但据工人透露，对于不愿离开的工人，公司采取以“5天8小时低薪”的方式，逼迫他们自动离职，从而达到逃避赔偿的目的。目前，工人的罢工还在持续之中。

[Shenzhen, Guangdong: Hundreds of Xinhao Optoelectronics Workers Strike to Oppose Uncompensated Relocation (July 8–9, 2025)]

From July 8 to 9, hundreds of workers at the Tangxiayong factory of Xinhao Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. in Bao’an District, Shenzhen, went on strike to protest the company’s relocation plan without compensation. On June 24, Xinhao announced that its 2.5D department at the Shenzhen headquarters would be relocated to Dongguan, Huangshi, Enshi, and other locations. The company claimed that workers could freely choose whether to relocate or stay and continue working in the 3D department in Shenzhen.

However, according to workers, those unwilling to relocate were being pressured to quit by being assigned low-paying “five-day, eight-hour” shifts—part of a strategy to force voluntary resignations and evade legally mandated compensation. The strike remains ongoing.
