【上海、广东：科兴新冠疫苗受害者维权受阻】6月25日，上海徐汇区信访局，维权的科兴新冠疫苗受害者“素问”女士与态度蛮横的科兴代表发生争执，科兴代表在自己戴帽子和口罩的情况下嘲讽她戴帽子和口罩，当天谈判没有取得任何进展。据“素问”女士自述：21年4月22日，她在注射了一针科兴新冠疫苗约2小时后发生免疫反应，导致她长期瘫痪，多次濒临死亡，4年里做了5次手术，今后还需面临多个大型手术，但科兴公司只同意赔偿她一百万。

同日，在广东省卫健委维权的科兴新冠疫苗受害者“xiao青”女士也遭到了政府人员刁难，一位路过的男士为她打抱不平，与政府人员发生了争吵。据“xiao青”女士自述：2021年12月12日，她在接种完科兴疫苗第三针后的第10天首发神经系统症状，整个头左半边麻木，耳鸣，听力下降，眩晕，呕吐，发冷发抖随后住院被确诊多发性硬化Ms，医学会鉴定为不排除是预防接种异常反应。

[Shanghai & Guangdong: Sinovac COVID-19 Vaccine Victims Face Obstacles in Seeking Justice]

On June 25, at the Xuhui District Petition Bureau in Shanghai, Ms. “Suwen”, a victim of the Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine, got into a dispute with a rude representative of Sinovac while seeking compensation. The Sinovac representative, wearing a hat and mask, mocked Ms. Suwen for wearing the same, and the negotiation made no progress that day. According to Ms. Suwen’s own account, on April 22, 2021, about two hours after receiving one dose of the Sinovac vaccine, she suffered an immune reaction that left her paralyzed long-term, brought her close to death multiple times, and forced her to undergo five surgeries over the past four years—with more major surgeries ahead. Sinovac, however, has only offered her one million yuan in compensation.

That same day, in Guangdong, another Sinovac vaccine victim, Ms. “Xiao Qing”, also faced obstruction by government personnel while petitioning at the provincial Health Commission. A passerby who witnessed the situation spoke up on her behalf and got into an argument with the officials. According to Ms. Xiao Qing, she developed neurological symptoms ten days after receiving her third dose of the Sinovac vaccine on December 12, 2021—experiencing numbness on the left side of her head, tinnitus, hearing loss, dizziness, vomiting, and chills. She was later hospitalized and diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS). A medical association assessment concluded that a vaccine-related adverse reaction could not be ruled out.

On June 26, construction workers at the 2-million-kilowatt tidal flat photovoltaic demonstration project in Tianwan, Lianyungang, Jiangsu, blocked the entrance of the state-owned enterprise China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) to protest against wage arrears.

On June 26, at Kaixuan Hospital in Linyi, Shandong, a security guard used tap water to spray the family members of a deceased patient who were seeking justice, in an attempt to drive them away. This drew the attention of a group of elementary school students who gathered to watch. Reportedly, the incident began after the hospital caused the death of an elderly woman who had been admitted for a fracture. Her family had been burning funeral paper outside the hospital for several days to demand an explanation. According to some online comments, the hospital has had multiple medical accidents over the past decade.

On June 25, in Hutang Village, Baisha Town, Hepu County, Beihai, Guangxi, Dongfang Hope Building Materials Co., Ltd. forcibly occupied villagers’ land and injured a villager with a front loader.

On June 23, due to a five-year delay in the delivery of Phase III homes at Evergrande Junrui Mansion in Puyang County, Henan, a homeowner protested by threatening to jump off a building. Following the incident, several homeowners were arrested.

On June 25, due to several months of unpaid wages, hundreds of workers at Senyuan Furniture Factory in Dongguan, Guangdong, went on strike.

Due to not receiving their homes even five years after purchase, homeowners of Rose Xi’an in Tianyuan District, Zhuzhou, Hunan, gathered on the evening of June 25 to protest by threatening to “jump off the building” in defense of their rights. Unexpectedly, one homeowner actually jumped. (The individual has been taken to the hospital for treatment and is not in life-threatening condition.)

On June 25, in Xindian Village, Longhua Town, Jiangjin District, Chongqing, the village committee and a developer hired security personnel to forcibly seize the land of an 80-year-old resident in order to install solar panels.

6月24日至25日期间，当地政府对家长们使用了各种“维稳”手段：学校老师告诉小孩，有人问起或者填调查试卷时，只能说很满意；警察直接打电话骚扰家长；还有官员上门威胁家长，如果继续抗议，将会影响到孩子的中考。

尽管如此，6月25日上午，家长们仍然顶住压力，继续到县政府门口集会，抗议当地政府对臭肉事件的处理不公。

Follow-up on the Spoiled Pork Incident at Huaying Primary School in Fushun, Sichuan (Part 2):

Between June 24 and 25, the local authorities employed various “stability maintenance” tactics against the parents. Teachers at the school told students that if anyone asked questions or handed out surveys, they must say they were “very satisfied.” Police officers directly called and harassed the parents. Some officials even visited parents’ homes to threaten them, warning that continued protests could affect their children’s upcoming high school entrance exams.

Despite the pressure, on the morning of June 25, the parents stood their ground and continued to gather in front of the county government offices to protest the authorities’ unfair handling of the spoiled pork incident.
