In Yugan County, Shangrao, Jiangxi, homeowners in the Blue City Mingyue Jiangnan residential complex have been unable to obtain property deeds because the developer used the project as collateral for construction debts. On May 10, when the homeowners went to the county government to seek assistance, they were met with a police crackdown, during which several people were beaten and arrested.

On June 6 and 10, in Datuan Village, Shichongkou Town, Xinhua County, Loudi, Hunan, Yuan Xichun, the head of the Shichongkou Town Police Station, led police forces twice to suppress villagers defending their rights — even a 98-year-old woman was not spared. Since 2024, villagers of Datuan have been protesting against the local government’s forced land seizure under the pretext of a resettlement project, which in reality is for marble mining. Several villagers have been arrested during the ongoing resistance.

Follow-up on the workers’ rights protest at Hashimoto Youlian Plastic & Hardware Products Co., Ltd. in Dongguan, Guangdong: as of the evening of June 9, the workers have still not received their unpaid wages.
The Ma Street Moore City project in Kunming, Yunnan, has been abandoned for over a decade. Homeowners bought their properties in 2011 and began petitioning for their homes as early as 2014, but have yet to receive them. On June 2, some of the protesting homeowners moved into the unfinished buildings, and have remained there since.
On June 9, in Quxian, Sichuan, employees of the Marriott Holiday Hotel blocked the hotel entrance to demand their wages.
On June 9, in Jingjiang, Jiangsu, a petitioning veteran was intercepted by police at the Jingjiang Bus Station and shouted, “I was wrong to join the Party, I was wrong to serve in the army!”
On the evening of June 8, villagers from Jingtoutou Village in Dalang Town, Dongguan, Guangdong, continued their sit-in at the Dalang Town Government, demanding the return of 360 million yuan in project security deposits. Their protest has been ongoing for two years.
Recently, due to the unlikelihood of ever receiving their homes, several homeowners in Longgang District, Shenzhen, Guangdong have gradually moved into the unfinished Evergrande Shenhui Tower, where the average price per square meter was 27,900 yuan. As of June 7, the longest stay among them has lasted 185 days.
